Getting into psychology courses - 14th edition
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it enabled me to reflect on how I decided to study a degree in Psychology over 20 years ago now. All I can say is that I wish I had all this information at the time. My decision to study Psychology would have been a lot easier, as all the information I needed would have been right in my hands.
However, on a positive note, it is nice to see how technology has actually helped, how much individuals, such as writers and researchers have helped in providing a book like this. Which is a brilliant resource for research into the field of Psychology.
What I found interesting about this book is that it offers a 360 degree look at the subject. Right from - what is Psychology, careers you can pursue, different types of degrees you can study, writing a personal statement, interview skills, to information on funding and finances for university. By the time I finished this book, I was very clear on what Psychology is about and what to do next. In addition, if I never knew a thing about Psychology, I do now and know how exciting the area of Psychology is.
Most importantly for me, the language was perfect. When I was reading this book, I felt like I was having a chat with a number of professionals who were informing me on different aspects of the field of Psychology.
As a Careers Manager in a further education college, I feel very confident to not only use this book in various activities with students, but to recommend this book to buy.
Review by Linda Derby RCDP, Careers Manager at Berkshire College of Agriculture.
