Joining COICE
Currently recruiting - closes 31st October 2024
Current COICE members have been proactive in shaping, influencing and developing careers education over the past 40 years and are considered experts in their field. For succession planning we are looking for new members with an existing profile/reputation for excellence in careers education. As a member of COICE you would have the opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest policy and practice developments across the UK, network and collaborate with some of the key people in the field, as well as influence the CDI’s direction on careers education.
We are looking for champions of careers education with a firm grasp of theory, research and evidence-based practice in the field. Individuals interested in joining COICE should be able to look beyond policy and towards best practice, considering and supporting perspectives from all home nations. We welcome diversity in the community, seeking representation from all careers education settings, as well as from each of the home nations. We are particularly interested if you have careers education knowledge and experience in Northern Ireland, as well as experience in FE/HE, SEND or Trust/Hub roles. Commitments associated with COICE include:
- Attending 4 x 2 hour meetings online via teams
- Sharing updates on emerging developments in careers education
- Discussing key topics to inform briefings or position papers
- Undertaking projects to further develop thinking and practice in careers education
- Supporting the CDI, for example with the National Careers Leaders’ Conference.
If you are interested, please send a short summary (no more than 1 page) to COICE Chair – John Ambrose at [email protected] by 31st October 2024. The summary should outline why you would like to join COICE, what you could bring to the group and a summary of your experience in careers education.
You can also contact John for an informal discussion. Interested applications will be reviewed by COICE members and prospective members invited to the December meeting.
