Business urged to offer more apprenticeships as demand soars

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education has called on businesses to offer more apprenticeship places to young people as it sees a 180% increase in interest since 2021.

There were 430,000 young people interested in taking an apprenticeship role in 2023, up 180% since 2021, but demand is significantly outstripping the supply of apprenticeship places, with under 200,000 places available for the last academic year.
